86th Texas Legislature Update

House Bill 557 has been introduced

The introduced bill is relating to the protection of certain information from disclosure in suits affecting the parent-child relationship and to service of process in those suits on a party whose information is protected from disclosure.

The proposed bill would protect private information about parties in cases, similarly to proposed SB263.  The process server would get the address for service from the clerk of court; it would not be published on the Citation, itself.  On the return of service, the process server would NOT provide an address where the process was served; instead providing the statement "the residence address in the clerk's data sheet".
