Subject: JBCC Compliance Investigator Letter
From: Destinee F Serdinia

Dear TxAPPS & Pending Members Along with Prospective :

Today I was contacted by one of our members regarding an email they received from the JBCC Compliance Investigator.

It seems there are some Texas Certified Process Servers who have not changed the verbiage or are continuing to use the term “Texas Supreme Court” rather than “JBCC” or Judicial Branch Certification Commission.

This is the email of what was received:

Good afternoon,

I am the JBCC compliance investigator.  In doing research for process server information, I have come across your website advertising your service as process servers.  Please note the information contained in your website is incorrect and needs to be changed immediately.  Please know process servers have not been certified through the Supreme Court of Texas since 2014 and stating this is an exaggeration of authority.

Failure to change the information may result in a JBCC Complaint and possible sanction against you and your certification.  Please refer to the Process Server Curriculum, Code of Ethics, and TRCP rules that dictate what you may and may not do.  These resources are located on the JBCC website.

•             Process servers are not affiliated or registered with the Texas Supreme Court.  Process servers are registered and certified through the Judicial Branch Certification Commission since 2014.  Please remove any verbiage alluding to your affiliation with the Texas Supreme Court.

Please confirm receipt of this email.  Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.  Thank you and have a good day.

It’s important that all websites, business cards, affidavits or any other items used in this industry have the correct verbiage.  We do not want to see anyone called to appear before the JBCC in matters concerning this.

Thank you for your time and attention.

Have a safe weekend.
