2022 Texas Process Servers' Expo & Job Fair
The second annual Texas Process Servers' Expo & Job Fair was held on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Williamson Conference Center in Round Rock, Texas.  The doors opened at 9 AM with 100 process servers venturing through the Exhibitor Hall which held 25 exhibitors. Educational sessions and seminars cycled throughout the day on the 2nd floor of the Conference Center.  C.E. Classes were available for registration in the morning and then were presented in the afternoon.  Jeff Rinard from the Judicial Branch Certification Commission spoke at 3:00 PM, making a presentation to help process servers better navigate the JBCC website and Online Licensing and Certification System.

TxAPPS Director Destinee Serdinia  was our resident photographer all through the day.  Photo album from the 2022 EXPO can be viewed on our website: www.TxAPPS.org.
TxAPPS @ 40th Annual NAPPS Conference

TxAPPS President Bobby Pickens and Administrator Jessica Jester Saucedo represented TxAPPS with an exhibitor booth at the 40th Annual NAPPS Conference on Friday and Saturday, May 13-14th, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas.  NAPPS had a solid turnout in San Antonio at the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Hotel where the Riverwalk actually flows into the lowest level of the hotel and beautiful water features can be seen from nearly every floor, as glass elevators hum up and down, providing an up-close view of the architecture within the grand lobby.

NAPPS Annual Members Meeting began on Friday, ending with election of officers and directors on Saturday.  During State Association reports, Jessica Jester Saucedo presented to the NAPPS membership the biggest news in Texas Legislation that it is now a FELONY to assault a process server who is in the process of doing their job in Texas.  This news received an uproar of applause, as assault on a process server has been a hot topic in legislation across the country for years, but seems slow to spread from State to State.

Jessica also reported on both the Texas Process Servers' Expo & Job Fairs held since the last NAPPS Conference in 2019.  Due to COVID, 2 years of NAPPS Conferences were cancelled... the TxAPPS EXPO in February 2020 was the last publicly attended event for process servers before the COVID shut-down.  With 200 process servers attending that day, NAPPS members and other State Associations were impressed with attendance and interested in what we're doing to bring out that many folks to engage in all things process serving.  Although 2022's EXPO was less attended, 100 process servers through the door is still a good turnout for any State-held process server event.

As NAPPS and other State Associations reported, growing membership has been the hardest part of these last couple years.  COVID hit many process serving businesses hard, which has made renewing membership with Trade Organizations like NAPPS and TxAPPS a financial struggle where one must weigh the benefits to the cost.  TxAPPS' affiliation with P.S. Jess offering our 24/6 Process Server Support Hotline was well received as a positive benefit of membership that could be a turning point in growth for TxAPPS.

TxAPPS gave away a $30 gift card to Tractor Supply at the NAPPS Conference which was won by MacKenzi Wiley, Office Manager of Certified Corporate & Process Services, LLC out of Garland, Texas.  Congats MacKenzi!

Additionally, TxAPPS extends congratulations to all the new members of the NAPPS Board of Directors who were mostly voted in unanimously on Friday.  Election was held for the final 3 Director seats on Saturday.  The new NAPPS Board consists of:  President, Eric Vennes; 1st Vice-President, Paula Ashcraft; 2nd Vice-President, Larry Yellon; Secretary, Sue Collins; Treasurer, Ron Ezell; Director (Immediate Past President), Jillina Kwiatkowski; Director, Andy Estin; Director, Fred Blum; and Director, Lance Randall.
SUPPORT YOUR SUSTAINING MEMBERS!

TxAPPS' Sustaining Members are businesses and organizations that provide products and/or services that benefit the profession of process serving. These members have committed to helping make TxAPPS as success all year around by supporting all our events throughout the year. In addition, they commit to having a booth at the annual TXAPPS Expo & Job Fair each year, which helps to make our EXPO a success.

TxAPPS encourages Texas Process Servers to reach out to these Sustaining Members and offer your support back to them by reviewing the products and services they offer and utilizing these vendors as your preferred providers for said products and services.  The more TxAPPS support they receive, the more support they can give back to TxAPPS!
